Von Maur Department Store announced the opening of its women's specialty store chain, DRY GOODS, at Orland Square Mall in Orland Park, Ill. The 4,500 square foot store is the specialty store chain's third location in the Greater Chicago land area and the seventh DRY GOODS store overall.

Known for offering the latest in contemporary women's clothing and accessories, the store features products from leading brands such as Free People, Hudson, Jessica Simpson, Joe's Jeans and Silver, among others, and offers an interest free credit card for its customers. Located on the second level of the mall's Northwest wing, the DRY GOODS store's decor features the chain's vintage, turn-of-the-century aesthetic.

Today's announcement continues the family-owned company's strategic growth plan for the specialty chain.  By opening in select locations in which Von Maur Department Store has yet to establish a presence, DRY GOODS serves as a complementing growth vehicle for the Company. In addition to the seven Midwestern DRY GOODS locations currently open, the specialty chain announced plans to open its next location at Jordan Creek Town Center in West Des Moines, Iowa in November 2012.

"We're excited to open the doors at our newest DRY GOODS store in Orland Park, where we offer shoppers a fresh way to experience the latest trends in contemporary fashion," said Jim von Maur, president of Von Maur. "Our ever-changing selections drive the newest looks, while our legendary customer service will help create a loyal customer base for years to come."

Von Maur opened the first DRY GOODS in October 2010 in Aurora, Ill. The name and design of the specialty store were inspired by Von Maur's heritage as a dry goods store, dating  back to 1872 in downtown Davenport, Iowa. While future locations will be primarily concentrated in Midwest-based shopping centers, Von Maur's goal is to expand DRY GOODS beyond the Midwest as part of a national expansion initiative.
