HSR series heat tracing cables are exceptional heating cables. Constructed of a semi-conductive heater polymer(also named as “PTC”) extruded between parallel bus wires with the addition of insulation layer. They are widely applied to pipelines and storage tanks for process temperature maintenance.

Also, they can be used for anti-freeze of large pipes and applications where high exposure temperatures are required.



With a holding temperature up to 125℃, HSR self-regulating heat tracing cables are fit for various applications, including those of steam purging, especially chemicals, power supply and other places need corrosion resistance.


HSR heat tracing tape consists with two parallel bus wires, which carry electricity but do not create significant heat. They are encased in a semi-conductive polymer, as the polymer element heats, it allows less current to flow so the cable is inherently power saving and only delivering heat and power where and when required by the system automatically. When the surrounding temperature rises, the conductive plastic produces micro-molecule expansion, and the carbon particles gradually separate, causing the circuit to be interrupted, the resistance rises, and the heating wire automatically reduces the power output. When the ambient temperature becomes cold, the plastic returns to the micro molecular contraction state, the carbon particles are connected to form a circuit, and the heating power of the heating wire automatically rises. In this way, this electric heat cable is not only able to self control the temperature effectively, but also achieve energy-saving purpose.


As the heating elements are parallel to each other, it can regulate its heat output automatically all along its length according to the change of the ambient temperature, at low temperatures, the polymer shrinks, there are many conductive paths, allowing current to flow between conductors, on the contrary, as temperature increases, it disconnects the circuit to reduce heat generation automatically, then it loops depending on the change of the temperature.

For maintaining a precise target operating temperature, use of a thermostat is strongly recommended

In addition to the advantages of self-limiting temperature, it can wrap itself without the danger of overheating or burnout, safety enough for operating. Furthermore, due to the parallel structure design, this high temperature cable can be cut in length according to different needs.

HSR is an efficient high temperature heating cable type, with the Max.maintain temperature up to 125℃ (257°F), while the Max.exposure temperature is 175℃ (347°F). Moreover, high temperature heating cable is explosion-proof with a durable tinned cooper braid layer, which makes it perfect to various industrial applications.

Inner insulation is made of modified polyolefin, never use recycled material, only to provide you with products of the best quality. Corrosive resistant F46 for the outer jacket as default, while we have PTFE and other fluoropolymer for your option according to different requirements.
